High Performance Pigments
Tintium High Performance Organic Pigments
Tintium Pigments made Harsha Chemicals are soft textured, producing bright and clean shades with high tinting
strength and outstanding single pass dispensability in printing inks, Paints, Plastics and other
similar media.
Most of the yellow and
Orange pigments used all over the world are of Benzedrine (deceptively
called diarylide) type or of dangerous metals such as lead, chromium or
cadmium. In the case of benzidine (diarylide) Pigments, the azo compound
cleaves with biological fluids and the Carcinogen benzidine is released.
TINTIUM series of
specialty colorants are available presently in two colours- reddish
yellow XT 700 & XT 900 ( PY 139) and greenish yellow XT 500 (PY 185)
Tintium pigments are more
easily dispersible than any other comparable product.
Tintium is truly the
future of the plastics Industry. It serves in economical and
environmental considerations as well as weather fast properties
Tintum Pigments are among
the best in the world for plastics industry for spun fibers, films etc.
Master batch manufactures specially prefer TINTIUM products for their
excellent dispersibility and bright, clean colour. Due to their
high tinctorial strength TINTIUM saves money for the users not
insignificant.
TINTIUM pigments are
migration resistant. Presently TINTIUM XT 700 is used for upto 250 c
and XT 500 for upto 240c.
For gravure inks which
require more flow TINTIUM XT500 series may be advantageously used. Due
to high tinctorial value, smaller dosages may be used. There is no
tendency to crystallise in solvent medium. Though easy flowing, the ink
after application on the paper assumes thixotropy and hence sharp images
were the result. In metal decorating inks Tintium withstands the
temperatures involved with ease.
In flexo and screen inks
due to the inherent stability to solvents. Tintium are the pigments of
choice.
In plastisol inks Tintium
yellows reign supreme.
Tintium XT900 is a very
soft opaque pigment (PY139) Which gives opacity matching inorganic
Pigments, but maintaining the beauty of organic pigments XT900 is used
in powder coating, Out door finishes
Tintium for Plastics and
polymers
Tintium XT700 series of
pigment yellow 139 is best suited for plastics. Its brilliant reddish
and excellent dispensability makes it highly attractive to plastics
Masterbatch Manufacturers. It is strongly recommended for synthetic and
natural rubber coloration also. No migration takes place in plastcizers
making it a product of choice fo PVC / Plastisol manufacturers.
Tintium XT500 series is
the greenish Yellow (PY 185) loved by Plastics manufactures. Its
attractive full tone and tint tone shades are very clean.
Both the products are
specially designed to resist change of shade during processing.
Tintium series pigments
are for use in everyday plastics and injection moulding, Tintium
pigments are dispersed easily into the plastic by extrusion and using
and adhension promoter, (i.e) surface active agent or paraffin oil.
Tintium pigments are best suited for polymer coloration because they are
insoluble in the polymers under this process conditions also. Blooming
and bleeding which occur due to migration are avoided by using Tintium.
These pigments also do not recrastallize causing structural weakness or
loss of hiding power.
Tintium pigments when
used in packaging films are extraction proof and physiologically safe.
If transparent films aer needed must be used.
The forte of Tintum
pigments is the highly dispersibility which gives value for money,
besides the aesthetic look. The polymers are glossier when Tintium is
used.
Tintium pigments do not
cause shrinkage when used in large parts or products such as road
dividers and milk crates. The high light fatness of Tintium is a major
advantage to plastics exposed to bright sunlight like tarpaulins,
awnings, etc.
PVC and Tintium are made
for each other. IN PVC wire coating, Tintium is used to pass all
standard tests for dielectric strength and other electric properties .
Dispersion and suspension grade PVC can be colored with Tintium and
pigments dispersion is achived by calendaring.
PVC cables colored with
Tintium can with stand high voltage (1100 Volts), and pass tests such as
IS-694-1964 and IS-5831-1970.
Polymer fibres such as
polyolefin, polyester or Nylonfibres can be colored in the melt with
Tintium pigments. The fibre strength remains unaffected. The fibres
attain very good gloss.
Extensive tests are being
conducted by us with tintium in various polymers for dispersibility,
temperature stability, particle size analysis ect.
